Designing: Upstairs Den
I have designed a peaceful upstairs retreat for this year’s YWCA Design House. Mid century modern furniture upholstered in a neutral fabric sets the tone for a relaxing atmosphere. Nature is always an inspiration in my design work. In this room you will appreciate the soothing natural elements throughout the space. The room will invite you to read, meditate or even play a family game while leaving your electronics elsewhere.
Betsy Burton, owner of Burton Designs LLC, has been designing hand painted accessories for the home, special occasion flowers, and interiors for the past 25 years. She is a graduate of Mary Baldwin College and has been living in Lynchburg for the past 32 years.
Her recent work includes designing the villas at The Preserve at Oakwood, living spaces, restrooms, marketing office and memory center at Westminster Canterbury, The Summit, and The Williams Home. She specializes in organizing and downsizing for retirement communities.
